This sensitive altimeter is for use on aircraft to indicate the height of the aircraft (up to 20,000 feet) above a reference point, generally mean sea level, assuming standard conditions of temperature and pressure.
The altimeter measures the existing barometric pressure. Since the atmospheric pressure varies with altitude this pressure is indicated on the dial in feet of altitude with a millibar subscale. The altimeter may be manually adjusted to variances in barometric pressure. Supplied with FAA cert.
