For aerobatic batteries we use Concorde VRSLAB “RG” (recombinant gas) batteries. These are not gell batteries but are similar to the modern sealed car battery and they work better on high utilization aircraft. For carriage they are classified as non-dangerous. They should be fitted upright as per normal lead acid but they are sealed.
We stock the RG25 (same dimensions give or take a few mm as G25) which weighs 22.8 lbs and RG35 (same dimensions give or take a few mm as G35) which weighs 29.5 lbs. Also now available the “Xtra Cranking” XC models with more power for starting etc.
