This is a two part polysulphide rubber compound employing an advanced chemical curing system. PR1422 type A is a brushing sealant suitable for sealing aircraft fuel tanks PR1422 type B is a filleting sealant for use on aircraft skins etc. Cure takes place at room temperature without shrinkage to form a resilient seal having excellent adhesion to aluminium, magnesium, titanium, steel and numerous other materials.
The last part of the part number denotes the time the seal takes to cure PR1422 is supplied in either 150 ml tins or in semkits.
Semkit packages are two-component plastic cartridge assemblies which store, mix and apply multi-component adhesives, sealants and other materials. When ready to use, the material is mixed within the cartridge and applied directly from the package. These have the advantage that there is no exposure to the chemicals during transfer of accelerator, no risk of the wrong combination being mixed, each component is pre-measured and mixing a semkit is faster than mixing in a tin. Available in the two hour curing time only.
